My most extensive project until now: concept, brand identity, social media and product design

Context: my client is a young florist who is starting her business and asked me to create her whole brand identity. This is a project I am currently working on, the idea is to update this page weekly, giving insights of the whole creative process.

After showing you some of my work, I thought it would be interesting to save this space to show you my creation process. Therefore, this page is reserved for a project that I am now in the process of creating. I will keep it updated by adding my advances every few days.

Briefing and concept

For this project, I have to create the brand identity of a floral designer. Luckily the client gave me artistic freedom and since I know her personally, I have an idea of what style will fit with her personality and creations.

I am getting inspired by the composition in Japanese prints, which I will mix with the style of painted tiles to make a connection with the florist's culture.

Client's notes:

Commission: brand identity, social media branding design and some corporate products.

Main flowers: peonies, foxgloves and poppies.

Logo: Bee icon.

Aesthetic: modern, youthful, elegant.

When developing the concept art of the illustrations, I transformed the flowers into tile-style illustrations, keeping them recognizable. For this reason studied the different ways of representation in this style, as well as the types of strokes and textures and which characteristics of the flowers would make them recognisable.

After having a better idea of how the style will look, I tested a few colour palettes. We are probably deciding on the middle colour combination from the three options bellow, since it gives an elegant yet modern feel.

I am currently working on the graphics and illustrations, trying out different shapes and compositions that resemble floral tiles.
